Come and join us for a thrilling and informal afternoon of music with Irish duo Jessica Harris and John Garvey in our cafe and gallery.
About John Garvey
John Garvey is a music therapist and internationally renowned singer songwriter. He has performed in various venues across Ireland including Bewley’s Theatre and the University Concert Hall Limerick. He has been a finalist in the ‘New Zealand National Song writing Competition’ and the 2005 ‘International Song Contest of Peace’. In 2010 John won the internationally acclaimed ‘Glinsk Song Contest’ with his song ‘You’re Not Alone’. Also in 2010 John performed at the ‘Milk’ festival with much acclaim. In 2009 John, together with Jack O’Leary and Eli Chourdaki established ‘Music Therapy Ireland’, Ireland’s first music therapy company. Music Therapy Ireland currently operates clinics in Limerick, Dublin, Cork and Galway and represents music therapy in a range of facilities country-wide.
About Jessica Harris
Jessica Harris completed both a BA in Music Performance and an MMus at the Royal College of Music in London. She has since performed throughout Ireland and the UK as an oboist with orchestras and ensembles such as the National Symphony and National Concert Orchestras of Ireland. She also teaches singing in the Limerick area and at Waltons School of Music. More recently, her skills in working and connecting with people and passion for music led her to pursue and complete a two-year Masters degree in Music Therapy at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She is now proud to be working with Music Therapy Ireland in the Dublin area with people of all ages and abilities.
