Fresh from presenting numerous shows on BBC radio and a sell out Australian tour, don't miss half-Spanish Jen's hilarious new show on what it means to be British. Having been brought up to ignore the national skills of low talking, passive aggression and queuing, Jen finds herself without the necessary British skills to survive. So with the voice of a megaphone and the subtlety of a brick, join Jen as she explores her national roots to finally prove to everyone that she is indeed British(ish).
About Jen Jen has performed stand up in clubs all over the country (literally) as well as sketch comedy in numerous groups including the Loose Connection. In 2006 she took up her first one woman show “Me My Mum & I” to the Edinburgh Festival where she recived excellent reviews. In 2007, Jen starred in Russell Brand & Trevor Lock’s ‘Cloud Cuckoo Land’ for BBC Radio 2. In 2008 Brister teamed up with her comedy writing partner, Clare Warde to produce a two hand sketch comedy show called ‘Reception.’ In 2009 at the Edinburgh Festival Jen performed stand up at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar in the Comedy Zone as well as starring in Trevor Lock’s hilarious new play “The One & The Many.” This year, she is touring her new solo show “Jen Brister is British(ish”) at the Adelaide & Melbourne Comedy Festivals in 2011, before heading once more to Edinburgh. Mixing storytelling, stand up and songs, musician turned comedian Rosie Wilby brings back to life her years chasing stardom at the height of Britpop through a treasure trove of old photos, fan letters, reviews, and the original ‘Rosie’s Pop Diary’ (her ‘90s magazine column).
