Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between gallery hire, room hire, or venue hire? Gallery hire - you can rent the gallery if you would like to exhibit your work. We have 3 walls in our cafe/gallery space using a hook and suspension system. The gallery space measures approx 6.3mW x 3.7mH by 7.5mW x 3.7mH (note: with a door entrance in the middle). Room hire - the cafe/gallery area can be closed off as a single room using folding wood frame and glass doors. This offers a private area for meetings, workshops or classes. Venue hire - if you are planning a large event , e.g. a private party or a launch, this can be hosted after-hours and basically, the shop, cafe and gallery space is at your disposal I have some dates in mind, how will I find out if that/those date(s) are available? We host quite a few author events, performances, exhibitions and other events throughout the year, so if you have an event or exhibition in mind and know when you would like to hold these, please check our calendar to ensure that there is availability. (Prices below do not incl VAT) Venue Hire Gallery hire To hire the gallery space for an exhibition costs £200 p/week; discounted £700 for a month (4 weeks). For more details and the terms and conditions of gallery hire, please view our Gallery Hire page Room hire (during opening hours) For private individuals - £25 first hour, £40 for 2 hours, £80 for 4 hours For organisations, associations, corporate or companies - £50 p/hour Venue hire (for after opening hours, e.g. evening events, launches etc) For after-hour events from 7pm to 9pm - £200 (*For non profit organisations, a 50% discount rate applies) Can you do catering, supply wine and drinks, AV or presentation equipment etc for my event? Catering, wine, drinks - We can organise these for you depending on your requirements and these will incur an additional charge. Below is an indication of costs: WINE: Our house red wine and white wine is charged at £8 per bottle; a limited selection of wines other than our house wines is available at a higher charge. You may not bring your own wine for events. CATERING: On average, the provision of canapes or hot food will cost around £5 per head. We reserve the right to quote you a higher cost in the event you would like more elaborate canapes or food offering. DRINKS: Juices and soft drinks can be arranged if you wish, these range usually between £1.50 to £2.50 depending on the size of the bottle AV equipment etc - We can provide all or part of the following listed items for an event. The minimum fee chargeable is £20 to a maximum of £50.
