About Kirstine Fryd
London based photographer Kirstine Fryd was born and grew up in Denmark. She received her MA degree in Journalism in 2007 and an MA in photojournalism from London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, in 2009. Over a period of three years she studied photography, film, and visual anthropology in Canada and the United States. She works as a picture editor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark and was involved in a documentary production in Arctic Canada. In 2009 she exhibited the series Cowgirl Dreaming as part of a collective exhibition called 28 Stories, in which she explored North American identity and cultures.

About Dr Brian Belton
Dr Brian Belton is Senior Lecturer at YMCA George Williams College, London. Dr Belton is the published author of Gypsy and Traveller Ethnicity and Questioning Gypsy Identity: Ethnic Narratives in Britain and America. Dr Belton’s talk – ‘That’s Why I’m A True Didikai – relates his personal experiences of travelling away from the mythical Romany in search of a modernist Gypsy, a journey of the ‘caravans of the mind.’
